Silver coin for Expo 2020

The Central Bank of the UAE has issued new, high-quality silver coins to commemorate the emirate's hosting of Expo 2020 in its capital, Dubai. Originally scheduled to open on October 20, 2020, and close on April 10, 2021, the World Expo has now been rescheduled. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it has been postponed to 2021, with the new dates set for October 1, 2021, and closing on March 31, 2022. Despite being held in 2021, organizers will retain the Expo 2020 name for marketing and branding purposes, marking the first time the World Expo has been postponed rather than canceled. The event is expected to attract nearly 25 million visitors from its official opening in October until its conclusion in March.

The silver-quality coins are produced by the Royal New Zealand Mint at its Auckland facilities on behalf of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates. The reverse features the official logo of Expo 2020. Below the logo is text in English and Arabic, which is part of the actual logo and reads EXPO 2020, along with the United Arab Emirates. Below the base shape and along the bottom edge is text also in English and Arabic. The coin weighs 40 grams.
