Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance, paid tribute to the noble humanitarian mission that «Egypt’s White Army» is carrying out with utmost dedication, leading the front lines in confronting the emerging coronavirus, in an epic heroism that embodies the dedication of medical teams in the fields of giving;

So that history may record it in letters of light, noting the Ministry of Finance's keenness to cultivate national awareness of the symbols of humanitarian giving who enriched our lives with their immortal stances and precious sacrifices, through the issuance of circulating or commemorative coins to immortalize these great memories. The Minister explained that the Public Treasury and Mint Authority is documenting this growing heroic role of Egypt's "White Army" in the nation's memory, through the release of 10 million one-pound coins and 5 million fifty-piaster coins bearing the logo of "Egypt's Medical Teams," in appreciation of their great efforts in saving the lives of thousands of citizens with utmost bravery.

He explained that there are many historical projects that deserve documentation, including: «The New Administrative Capital, the New Egyptian Countryside, New Alamein City, the National Road Network, power generation stations, the Zohr gas field, the new Assiut Barrages, the solar farms in Aswan, eighty years of solidarity, the New Suez Canal, the National Housing Project, the National Fish Farming Project, the Galala Plateau, the technology incubators, the logistics center for storing and trading grains, and the economic zone of the Golden Triangle project.» A number of projects have already been minted on some coins, and designs for other projects have been prepared in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
