3 million Egyptian pounds bearing the slogan of the 70th anniversary celebration of the police

The Treasury and Mint Authority issued 3 million pounds of auxiliary coins (change) of the pound denomination, bearing the logo of the celebration of the seventieth anniversary of the Police, in commemoration of this occasion, which embodies the precious sacrifices of the police heroes in defending the homeland and preserving the safety of its citizens and lands.

This comes within the framework of Dr. Mohamed Maait, Minister of Finance’s keenness to develop national awareness of important historical events and leading and influential figures in the life of the Egyptian people, through the issuance of circulating or commemorative coins that contribute to reviving these immortal memories, and documenting this great event in the history of the nation.

Major General Hossam Khader, head of the Public Treasury and Mint Authority, said that the Treasury and Mint Authority spares no effort in developing national awareness of the unprecedented achievements, as designs have been prepared for all the national projects that Egypt witnessed during the seven years of development that paved the way for building the «New Republic», and a proposal to «mint» each of them on the circulating and commemorative coins and commemorative stamps, according to what is determined by the Cabinet.

He explained that there are many historical projects that deserve documentation, including: «The New Administrative Capital, the New Egyptian Countryside, New Alamein City, the National Road Network, power generation stations, the Zohr gas field, the new Assiut Barrages, the solar farms in Aswan, eighty years of solidarity, the New Suez Canal, the National Housing Project, the National Fish Farming Project, the Galala Plateau, the technology incubators, the logistics center for storing and trading grains, and the economic zone of the Golden Triangle project.» A number of projects have already been minted on some coins, and designs for other projects have been prepared in cooperation with the concerned authorities.
