The Central Bank issues a new 200 riyal banknote

The Central Bank of Yemen, from its headquarters in the temporary capital Aden, announced today the issuance of a new 200 riyal banknote, based on Bank Law No. (14) of 2000 and its amendments, specifically Article No. (24).

The bank said in a statement, ”We announce to the public that the bank has printed a new banknote of the 200 riyal denomination and will issue it for circulation in the coming days.“.

According to the statement, the new banknote has the following basic specifications: Banknote size: 150mm X 69mm, Color: Greenish gold, Front of banknote: Zabid Castle, Back of banknote: Hawf Al-Mahra, and year of issue: 1439 AH - 2018 AD.

The bank noted that the new banknote has security features on the front, including raised marks that give the paper a distinctive roughness, among them the name of the Central Bank of Yemen and other prominent colored writings, in addition to a raised, prominent white mark without color in the white part of the paper.
