King Fuad coin prices in Eritrea 2023 Part 2
We mentioned earlier in the first part of the article Egyptian currencies and record prices in Eritrea 2023 A collection of coins belonging to King Fuad and Sultan Fuad was sold at auction. Eretz Number 28, which was held on March 21, 2023, achieved unprecedented record numbers for Egyptian coins, in addition to many other foreign coins.
The pieces sold date from 1916, during the reign of Sultan Hussein Kamel, through the 1920s and 1923-1924 issues of Sultan Fuad's reign, including the period when Egypt transitioned to a monarchy, as well as other pieces with more recent Egyptian significance. This section details the prices of the featured pieces sold at this auction, representing both the reigns of Sultan Fuad and King Fuad.
Sultan Fuad's coins
Five Piastres 1920 – Highest Rated
A 1920 five-penny coin from the Heaton Mint in England, one of the world's highest-rated coins in terms of condition and appearance (at the time of this article), and assessed by NGC at MS 65. The coin sold for [amount missing]. 4500 US dollar.

Five piasters 1920 – Sample – Its authenticity is questionable
A 1920 silver five-piaster coin issued by the Heaton Mint. Although this coin is a prototype minted during the initial minting operations at the British Mint and was graded SP 64 by PCGS, its authenticity is doubtful according to the Arab Collector's Office, which believes it to be a sophisticated forgery.
