The History of Paper Currency in Royal Iraq – Walid Al-Kharfi

The book “The History of Paper Currency in Royal Iraq” by Walid Khalid Al-Kharfi was recently published.
The author mentioned on his personal page a description of the creation of this distinguished encyclopedic work, saying:
After spending nearly fourteen years researching and studying Iraqi banknotes issued during the monarchy, moving between various archives, my book, "The History of Paper Currency in Royal Iraq," has been published today. It crowns all these efforts and is the first study of its kind to compare the contents of British and Iraqi archives. Thus, this book is the first to tell the story of the origins of Iraqi currency by combining the Iraqi and British narratives. My esteemed professor, Ibrahim Al-Salem, wrote the foreword. The book comprises 562 pages in a large format, and its most important topics include:
1- Determine the date of arrival of the first batch of Iraqi currency to Iraq (date, day and hour)
2- Determining the date for the launch of the Iraqi currency for circulation, and resolving the dispute regarding it, while responding to all other opinions with documents.
3- Proof of the printing of the 100 fils Indian and 50 fils denominations from the fourth issue of the Iraqi government (1942 AD) with British and Iraqi documents.
4- Clarifying the divisions of banknotes (at which number they started and to which number they ended) based on archival models and documents.
5- Establishing a special system for numbering Iraqi banknotes issued during the monarchy, called (Quality Numbering of Iraqi Banknotes), abbreviated as (IBTN).
6- The story of the establishment of the National Bank of Iraq and the Central Bank of Iraq, and all the disputes that took place behind the scenes regarding the establishment of the bank.
7- A special chapter on models and proofs, supported by documents and images of models.
8- Proving the date of release of each banknote into circulation, and estimating the dates on which each signature was released into circulation.
And many other details that have not been published before.
