Gaza moneyIts entire history belongs to us.

Whether Canaanite, Greek, Roman, or Islamic
It is nothing but a series of episodes; points on a single line; stations on the same path; layers positioned one on top of the other; and a continuous identity even if cultures and beliefs change.

If we were to begin reading its coins in Phoenician Aramaic or Syriac, then in Greek, then in Arabic; and if we were to start with a reference to Dagon or Marnas and conclude with the saying “There is no god but God alone,” do not be surprised, for all of this is History of Gaza:
Gate and crossing
Port of Cultural Exchange
The station is on the trade route
And the obstacle on the path of major military campaigns
