The Royal Australian Mint honors firefighters with a $2 Australian dollar coin

Twelve months after devastating bushfires swept through the country, the Royal Australian Mint has released a colorful commemorative coin worth US$2 to honor Australian firefighters, following the release of a circulating coin of the same design.

The new currency design includes a simplified representation of two firefighters standing in a row, with a colored fireball in the center of the currency.

The identities of the two firefighters are hidden, but the figure on the right appears to be male and the person on the left is female, as a symbol of diversity within the ranks of Australia's firefighting forces.
