The history of Egyptian scouting and postage stamps

The Egyptian Scout Movement is one of the oldest Arab Scout movements, having originated in Egypt in 1914 and been registered with the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1922. (1). The Girl Guides movement originated in Egypt in 1925 and was registered internationally in 1930. The Girl Guides have membership in four central associations: Boys, Sea, Air, and Girl Guides. Each of these associations has branches in every governorate.

A cultural, artistic, and heritage event entitled “The History of Egyptian Scouting”

The National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat organized a cultural and artistic heritage event on Saturday, February 18, 2023, in cooperation with the Egyptian Federation of Scouts and Guides, and in the presence of the Egyptian historian Dr. Farag. The event, entitled “The History of Egyptian Scouting,” was a great success, attracting visitors from all over Cairo. Also participating were Scout Leader Mohamed Abbas, President of the Egyptian Scouts Federation, and Scout Leader Yanni, Head of the Greek Scouts in Cairo.

The Pioneers Club participated in the Egyptian Scouting History Exhibition at the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat. The exhibition and the club's booth attracted hundreds of museum visitors, as well as leaders and members of various scouting branches. Club members were delighted to meet many colleagues from previous events. This participation reflects the club's leading role in promoting scouting among younger generations and encouraging their involvement.
