The Central Bank of Oman launches a new 50 Omani Rial banknote.

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the launch of Oman’s modern renaissance, and in commemoration of its founder, the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimur – may God rest his soul – and in gratitude for the great achievements he accomplished that placed the Sultanate prominently on the world map, the Central Bank of Oman has introduced the 50 riyal note from its sixth issue, which will begin to circulate this month.
The bank will also release its sixth series of new banknotes for circulation in the Sultanate during the last quarter of 2020, covering all other denominations. These denominations include:
20 riyal category
10 riyal denomination
5 riyal category
One Riyal category
Half riyal category
100 baisa category
The Central Bank of Oman is currently working with banks operating in the Sultanate to adapt automated withdrawal and deposit machines to be compatible with banknotes.
The new fifty riyal banknote has the following characteristics:

Front side:
1- A gold-colored security stamp on the right side of the paper showing:
A. The main entrance to the Central Bank of Oman building.
b) The name of the bank in both Arabic and English.
C- The number 50 in Arabic.
Dr. The number 50 is written in English by laser and appears when exposed to a light source.
e. A window that appears blue when exposed to a light source.
2- A shiny, multi-colored security stamp on the left side of the paper in the shape of the number 50, which displays some moving elements that change color from green to gold when the banknote is tilted.
3- Three watermarks on the left side of the banknote include a picture of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may God rest his soul, and the number 50 in Arabic repeated twice, which appear clearly when the banknote is exposed to a light source.
4- A decorative pattern repeated seven times in intaglio printing on the right and left sides of the paper helps blind and visually impaired people to identify the denomination value when they touch the paper.
5- The colored dagger image on the back of the paper is completed by the white dagger image printed on the front of the paper when viewed against direct light.
Back side:
1- A shiny, color-changing magnetic security thread, embedded in the banknote, parts of which are visible and others are intertwined with the banknote on the right side.
2- Glossy ink inspired by the Omani dagger belt appears in yellow and green in the middle of the banknote, with the number 50 in English in the center.
3- A reflection of the water image on the front surface of the paper with the same characteristics.
4- The gold-colored security stamp on the front of the paper appears on the left side of the paper.
5- The colored dagger image on the back of the paper is completed by the white dagger image printed on the front of the paper when viewed against direct light.
