The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) is issuing a 20-riyal banknote to commemorate the Kingdom's presidency of the G20.
The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) announced to the public its intention to issue a twenty riyal banknote, on the occasion of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s presidency of the G20 summit, during the reign of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, may God protect him, based on Article (4) of the Saudi Monetary System issued by Royal Decree No. 6 dated 07/01/1379 AH.
The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) clarified that the commemorative twenty riyal note will be issued and circulated starting from Sunday, 8/3/1442 AH, corresponding to 25/10/2020 AD, alongside the currently circulating banknotes of all denominations as legal tender.
The Saudi Arabian Monetary Authority (SAMA) confirmed that this denomination was printed according to the latest standards in banknote printing. It features numerous technical specifications, high-quality security features, and a distinctive design in a purple hue that highlights the beauty of the motifs inspired by the G20 summit logo. SAMA noted that the 20-riyal note includes a portrait of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, on the front, along with the Kingdom's G20 presidency logo in three dimensions. The back of the note features a world map highlighting the G20 member countries in a different color. The map of the Kingdom is depicted with rays emanating from it, symbolizing the gathering of these nations on its soil and the Kingdom's importance as a source of cultural and economic influence.
