Oman Post, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a new postage stamp to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. The new stamp features the colors of the Sultanate's flag alongside the official logo for the 75th anniversary of the United Nations, which bears the slogan 'Shaping our future together'.

To commemorate this historic day, the United Nations launched the 'UN75' initiative, which aims to strengthen cooperation by building bridges of understanding and connection between nations, as well as highlighting the pivotal role the United Nations will play in the future. The Sultanate of Oman is participating in the global dialogue, which aims to foster engagement from individuals around the world, allowing them to share their hopes and concerns and learn from their experiences, in order to build a global vision for 2045, the centenary of the United Nations.

Commenting on this, Abdulmalik Al Balushi, CEO of Oman Post, said: “The United Nations has always played a pivotal role in strengthening relations between nations and peoples to establish peace throughout the world. Over the past decades, the organization has been able to establish many principles, which the Sultanate has been keen to follow, based on dignity, equality among individuals, spreading peace, understanding and tolerance, as well as providing opportunities for peoples to prosper and grow. The issuance of this commemorative stamp is a true reflection of what we have achieved to date in this regard, and our future aspirations to extend bridges of cooperation with this esteemed organization to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.”.

This new stamp was issued in collaboration with the United Nations Postal Service, which issued its first stamp in 1951 to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the United Nations. In 2015, a stamp was issued featuring the newly renovated United Nations Headquarters in New York City to celebrate its seventieth anniversary. Today, many countries around the world are issuing commemorative stamps to celebrate this global milestone and the more than seven decades since the founding of this venerable international organization.
