The Central Bank of Oman issued a commemorative silver coin to mark the 75th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations and to commemorate this occasion, in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The front of the currency bears the Sultanate’s emblem, showing the name of the Sultanate of Oman, the name of the Central Bank of Oman, and the denomination in both Arabic and English. On the back of the currency, the United Nations emblem, the occasion’s logo in Arabic, and a color image of Bahla Fort are shown, along with the phrase “The 75th Anniversary of the Establishment of the United Nations.”.

The Central Bank of Oman clarified that the nominal value of the commemorative silver coin is one rial, the purity of the silver is 0.999, the diameter of the coin is 38.61 mm, while the weight of the coin is 28.28 grams. The year of minting was specified as 2020 AD, and the selling price is 19 Omani rials, but the price is subject to change according to the changes that occur in silver prices in global markets.

It is worth noting that the commemorative coin is legal tender with its face value and can be purchased from the Central Bank of Oman starting from November 1, 2020, and is available in limited quantities.
