The amazing treasure

Today I tell the story of an amazing treasure; the treasure of treasures; the most important and famous treasure. Greek coins Extracted from the East and perhaps from the West as well, it is in fact a history book bound in silver, with the luster and coolness of metal. Try browsing this ancient book with me and you will feel as if your senses have gone mad.
Do you see, hear, smell, touch, and taste what you think doesn't exist? Calm down, my dear, I can feel your heart racing, and this isn't the time for a heart attack. Don't panic, and try again. Believe me, your senses are fine. The problem isn't with you at all; the whole matter concerns this haunted treasure. I think neither of us is delirious, my dear.
This treasure is indeed haunted, haunted by the sweat of workers, the courage of sailors, the greed of adventurers, the skill of craftsmen, the wealth of merchants, the groans of the hungry, the coquetry of beauties, the wailing of the bereaved, the blood of soldiers, the cries of the betrayed, the greed of politicians, the superstitions of priests, and the tyranny of kings. Simply put, my dear, thousands upon thousands of these hands, in various cities and countries, have kept silent, passed on, sold, bought, stolen, killed, hoarded, and buried it for two thousand five hundred years.
Isn't this the state of humanity in every time and place? So don't be surprised, my dear, when your five senses observe what happened in the past; for tonight is like last night.
