About the Egyptian Philatelic Society
The Egyptian Philatelic Society (Egyptian Philatelic Society) is one of the oldest and most prestigious Egyptian non-governmental societies. It was established in 1929. The Society is an old and important member of the European Federation (FEPA) and the International Federation (FIP). Its headquarters are currently located in downtown Cairo at 16 Abdel Khalek Tharwat Street, Cairo, Egypt.
It was founded by a group of Egyptians and foreigners united by their passion for stamps. Their first initiative was the publication of the first issue of the "Egyptian Philatelic Society Magazine." The Society has amassed thousands of stamps from around the world. It organized the first stamp exhibition in Egypt in 1946, which was inaugurated by King Farouk. In 1964, the Society was officially registered with the Ministry of Social Affairs, and it currently has approximately 300 members.
