Abdullah Mohammed Al Ashram, CEO of Emirates Post Group, said, “These stamps are in line with our commitment to highlighting the distinguished historical and cultural landmarks of the United Arab Emirates. Through issuing special postage stamps for Saruq Al Hadid, we seek to raise awareness of the importance of this archaeological site, which was discovered in 2002.”.

He added: “Our goal is to highlight this site as a unique archaeological discovery that was used from the beginning of the Iron Age as a major center for smelting copper and manufacturing various tools and utensils in the region. Archaeologists have confirmed finding evidence proving human activity at the site dating back more than five thousand years, which constitutes a qualitative addition to the rich civilizational, cultural and historical heritage of the region.” He emphasized that Emirates Post Group will continue its initiatives aimed at harnessing commemorative postal issues as tools to document the country’s civilizational and archaeological landmarks, and to immortalize and preserve the heritage of our ancestors for future generations.
