75 years since the beginning of Egyptian-Philippine relations

The Egyptian Postal Authority issued a commemorative postage stamp to mark 75 years since the beginning of Egyptian-Philippine relations. Dr. Sherif Farouk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Post, stated that relations between Egypt and the Philippines are characterized by many aspects of cooperation, especially in the fields of tourism, industry, agriculture, medicine, and the exchange of expertise. Therefore, the Egyptian Postal Authority took the initiative to issue a commemorative postage stamp to mark 75 years of Egyptian-Philippine relations, with the aim of strengthening the strong diplomatic relations that unite the two friendly countries.

Dr. Sherif Farouk, President of the Egyptian Post, added that commemorative stamps are a means of cultural communication between different countries and peoples of the world and document the history of nations throughout the ages. Therefore, the Egyptian Post is always keen to issue commemorative stamps on important events and occasions to immortalize those events.

For his part, Ambassador Ahmed Shehab, the Egyptian Ambassador in Manila, stated that the strong relations between the two countries have always demonstrated consistency of opinions and political positions throughout all these long years of cooperation between them, as they are both forces of political moderation in their respective regions, in addition to the full coordination between the diplomatic missions of the two countries in all international forums, noting that the importance of documenting this historic event through a distinctive postage stamp demonstrates the depth of the bonds of friendship and cooperation that unite the two peoples.

It is worth mentioning that the commemorative stamp marking 75 years of Egyptian-Philippine relations was designed to combine artistic design and smooth expression to illustrate the distinguished relations that unite Egypt and the Philippines. The flags of the two countries were drawn as cheerful ribbons in the middle of the stamp, and together they form the number 75, which is the number of years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The design also features the Giza Pyramids and the Rizal Monument in Manila. The stamp measures (3 cm x 5 cm), is printed in multi-color offset, and has a value of 5 Egyptian pounds.
