Its overwhelming presence makes one think that it is the main driver of human movement. It is the currency, charming with the shine of its metals and the scent of its paper ink. Just as the circulating money charms its users, so too does the old money charm those interested in numismatics and collectors. Money never loses its charm.

Numismaticians, historians, and collectors have been accustomed to studying everything related to ancient coins, and from their studies they have extracted an inexhaustible wealth of information about the lives of the ancients, their economic activity, the news of their kings, the nature of their beliefs, and the types of their arts; and much, much more that cannot be mentioned here. This wealth of information has been employed to serve the writing of history, but can numismatics serve other branches of the humanities?
