Modern technologies used in the 5 dinar note

In a previous article, we mentioned the Central Bank's announcement regarding the issuance A new 5 dinar banknote On February 17, 2021, we mentioned the details of this release, from the very first polymer manufacturing to the most minute new details.

However, recently, the printing company Delaro, which manufactures this denomination, announced the use of a new and sophisticated polymer manufacturing technology called SAFEGUARD®, following the dinar issued in 2018. Like the dinar, the new 5 dinar note features an intricate window depicting the famous Libyan resistance leader Omar al-Mukhtar, the “hide and reveal” substrate feature, MASK™, and the GEMINI™ ultraviolet ink feature.

The 5 dinar note is also the world's first banknote to be issued with SAFEGUARD® ARGENTUM as part of its polymer base layer. This highly reflective silver ink forms part of the polymer base layer and is incorporated into the 5 dinar note's polymer window in the form of five mirror-like shapes, representing the denomination, around the window's edge.
