Hatem Gendy
Specialist in Egyptian currencies and contributor
Hatem Gendy is a distinguished Egyptian numismatist and a prominent figure in the world of Arab numismatics. As the founder of “Egyptian Coins Guide" , which is now a specialized section in the magazine “The Arab Collector”, provides coin collectors in the region with essential data on the prices and rarity of classified Egyptian coins.
Hatem began his coin collecting journey in 2012, becoming a pioneer in the acquisition of coins from the Egyptian royal era (1916-1950). He made history in numismatics in 2018 by completing the first and only complete set of circulating Egyptian royal coins (from half a millieme to 100 piastres) classified as excellent condition by the NGC.
In addition to his expertise in royal coins, his contributions to the journal are based on a deep knowledge of Egyptian banknotes and stamps dating back to 1866, and regional currencies in Saudi Arabia, Iraq, and Qatar. Through “The Arab Collector,” Hatem continues his mission of documenting and raising the standards of coin grading and collecting throughout the Arab world.
