The aim of the diploma course:

• Learning about the history of ancient coins and the use of metals in their manufacture;
• Understanding the techniques of manufacturing and producing ancient coins;
• Identifying the causes of damage and deterioration of old coins and the resulting signs of damage
• To learn about the modern scientific methods and techniques used in the maintenance and preservation of ancient coins;
• Identifying the ideal conditions for preserving and storing ancient coins;
• To learn about the modern scientific methods used in detecting counterfeiting and forgery of metal coins;
• To become familiar with the modern scientific methods used in evaluating metal coins;
• Identifying the causes of minting errors, classifying them, and their types.
