Egyptian Coins Price Index 1916 - 1951

Total Egyptian graded coins - 1916 - 1951

In the royal coin market, grade is everything. We do not offer prices for "raw" coins; international certifications guarantee the coin's authenticity and precisely determine its grade on the Sheldon scale (1-70). Our reliance on valuations from leading international appraisal firms ensures the coin's authenticity and that it has not undergone cleaning or treatment, resulting in higher and more stable value at auctions.

We adopted the US dollar as the primary benchmark for determining values to ensure the stability of the price reference, independent of local exchange rate fluctuations. This valuation reflects the true market value of the item in the international market, taking into account differences resulting from shipping, insurance, and offshore platform commissions.

This index covers the monetary output of Egyptian coins during three pivotal periods: the Sultanate of Egypt (1914-1922), the Kingdom of Egypt under King Fuad, and King Farouk. The value here lies not only in historical rarity but also in intricate technical details such as mint marks and the sharp price variations associated with different grades of condition, where the transition from one grade to another represents a significant difference in the coin's value.

There is currently no official guide or catalog of prices for old Egyptian coins due to the varying condition of the coins available in the market. Therefore, it is recommended to consult this guide to determine the prices of ancient Egyptian coins, especially the prices of royal coins that have been appraised.
