في كل زاوية من عالم الطوابع والعملات والنشرات البريدية، تختبئ قصة لم تُروَ بعد. قصص عن أوطان، عن رسائل سافرت عبر الحدود، عن جمعيات بذلت جهدًا لتوحيد الهواة، وعن مؤلفات كُتبت بحب لتكون مرجعًا للأجيال.
هذا التراث العربي الفريد في مجال البريد وعلوم المسكوكات يشكّل ثروة ثقافية وعلمية كبيرة، لكنه معرّض للاندثار مع مرور الزمن، سواء بسبب محدودية النسخ المطبوعة أو توقف الجمعيات والجهات التي كانت تصدر تلك النشرات والمجلات.
وانطلاقًا من رسالة المقتني العربي في خدمة الهواة والباحثين، نعلن عن إطلاق مبادرة التوثيق الرقمي، التي تهدف إلى:
• حفظ النشرات والمجلات والكتب المتعلقة بالبريد وعلوم المسكوكات العربية بشكل إلكتروني.
• للأجيال الحالية والمستقبلية عبر مكتبة المقتني العربي، لتكون مرجعًا لكل باحث ومهتم.
• تعزيز التعاون بين الجمعيات والهواة في مشروع عربي مشترك يخدم الجميع.
لماذا هذه المبادرة مهمة؟
لأننا إن لم نحفظ تاريخنا بأنفسنا، قد يضيع إلى الأبد.
ولأن كل صفحة قديمة، كل عدد من مجلة توقفت، كل كتاب نفدت نسخه، هو جزء من ذاكرتنا المشتركة.

دعوة عامة للمشاركة في التوثيق الرقمي
ندعو الجمعيات البريدية وجمعيات المسكوكات العربية إلى التعاون معنا من خلال تزويدنا بنسخ من نشراتهم القديمة لحفظها ضمن مكتبة المقتني العربي وزيادة محتوى التوثيق الرقمي ونسبها لهم بكل فخر، والسماح برقمنة المجلات والدوريات التي توقفت عن الصدور، مع الحفاظ على حقوق النشر وذكر المصدر بالإضافة الى المشاركة في وضع خطط مستقبلية لتوسيع الأرشيف الرقمي.
دور الهواة والمقتنين
لكل هاوٍ دور مهم في هذه المبادرة، إذ يمكنه المساهمة من خلال مشاركة النسخ القديمة من النشرات والمطبوعات التي يملكها والمساعدة في عملية المسح الضوئي أو توفير ملفات جاهزة ودعم مشروع التوثيق الرقمي بالنصائح والمراجع التي قد تكون بحوزته.
وسيُكرّم كل مساهم عبر صفحة شكر خاصة داخل المكتبة، ومنحه صفة “مساهم في حفظ التراث”. لكن التكريم الأجمل هو أنك ستكون سببًا في بقاء هذا التاريخ حيًا، ليصل إلى جيل لم يولد بعد.
هدفنا المشترك
إن مبادرة التوثيق الرقمي ليست ملكًا للمقتني العربي وحده، بل هي مشروع جماعي عربي يهدف إلى حماية تراثنا الثقافي المشترك. فنحن لا نجمع أوراقًا قديمة، بل نحفظ ذاكرة أمة. نحفظ لحظات من تاريخنا العربي كما رآها عشاق الطوابع والعملات والبريد. وبتكاتفنا، يمكننا أن نضمن بقاء هذه الإصدارات متاحة وآمنة، بعيدًا عن الضياع أو الإهمال، وأن نحول هذه المبادرة إلى جسر يربط الماضي بالمستقبل، ويجعل مكتبة المقتني العربي مرجعًا لكل من يبحث عن المعرفة للأجيال القادمة.

Digital Archiving Initiative: Preserving Arab Philatelic and Numismatic Heritage
In every corner of the world of stamps, coins, and postal bulletins, an untold story is hidden. Stories of nations, of letters that traveled across borders, of associations that worked hard to unite collectors, and of publications written with love to serve as references for future generations.
The Arab heritage in the field of philately and numismatics (stamps, coins, postal documents, research publications) represents a unique cultural and scientific treasure. Yet sadly, it is at risk of being lost over time, whether due to the limited number of printed copies or the discontinuation of associations and institutions that once produced these journals and newsletters.
From its mission to serve collectors and researchers, The Arab Collector announces the launch of the Digital Archiving Initiative. This initiative aims to:
- Preserve bulletins, journals, and books related to Arab postal history, philately, and numismatics in digital form.
- Make them accessible to current and future generations through the Arab Collector Digital Library.
- Encourage collaboration between associations and collectors in a joint Arab project that benefits everyone.
Why Is This Initiative Important?
If we do not preserve our history ourselves, it may be lost forever.
Every old page, every discontinued magazine, every book that is out of print is part of our shared memory. Preserving these materials means saving history that researchers and enthusiasts might otherwise never access again.
A Collective Call
We invite Arab philatelic and numismatic societies and associations to:
- Provide us with copies of their old publications to be preserved in the Arab Collector Digital Library and proudly credited to them.
- Authorize the digitization of journals and bulletins that are no longer in circulation, while fully respecting copyright and acknowledging sources.
- Contribute ideas for expanding and strengthening the digital archive for future generations.
The Role of Collectors and Enthusiasts
Every collector plays an essential role in this initiative. You can contribute by:
- Sharing old newsletters, magazines, and publications in your personal library.
- Assisting in scanning or providing ready-to-upload digital files.
- Offering advice, references, or rare sources to support the project.
Each contributor’s name will be featured in a special recognition page within the digital library and will be honored with the title “Heritage Preservation Contributor.” Yet, the greatest reward is knowing that you helped keep history alive for generations yet to come.
Our Common Goal
This initiative is not owned by The Arab Collector alone. It is a collective Arab project dedicated to safeguarding our cultural heritage.
We are not merely gathering old papers — we are preserving the memory of a nation. We are protecting moments in Arab history as seen through the eyes of stamp collectors, coin collectors, and postal historians.
Together, we can ensure that these publications remain accessible and safe from loss or neglect. By uniting our efforts, we transform this initiative into a bridge that connects past and future, and we make the Arab Collector Digital Library a reference point for every researcher, student, and enthusiast across the world.
