In this article, I will address an unexplored aspect, one that some may think has no relation to numismatics: philosophy. Yes, it can be useful. Numismatics Philosophy<\/a> I will present to you an example of this matter by reflecting on the relationship between money, politics, and religion. This relationship may seem obscure at first glance and have no connection to philosophy, but the truth is that understanding all aspects of the relationship between the components of this trinity requires deep philosophical reflection mixed with the history of currencies. So let us ask again: What is the nature of the relationship between money, politics, and religion?<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Not a day goes by without our fingers touching them. We use them in all our transactions, and their effects on all aspects of life are as clear as day. Their overwhelming presence makes one think that they are the main driver of human movement. They are the coins, enchanting with the shine of their metals and the scent of the ink on their paper. Just as the circulating money enchants those who use it, so too do the old coins enchant those interested in numismatics and collectors. Money never loses its charm. Numismatists, historians, and collectors have been accustomed to studying everything related to ancient coins, and from their studies they have extracted an inexhaustible wealth of information about the lives of the ancients, their economic activity, the news of their kings, the nature of their beliefs, and the types of their arts; and much, much more that cannot be mentioned here. This wealth of information has been employed to serve the writing of history, but can numismatics serve other branches of the humanities?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
