\"\"Under the title "Strike in Egypt," it was held on Thursday, May 11, 2023.Egyptian Opera House<\/a> A cultural seminar was organized by the Cairo Biography Initiative in cooperation with the Civilization Cinema Center. During the seminar, Professor Mohamed Abdel Hamid, a researcher in the history of coins, lectured and posed a question about how history can be discerned behind the inscriptions on coins. The lecturer sought, through presenting various examples, to clarify the importance of coins as archaeological evidence that can be relied upon in dating the successive periods of time in Egypt and other countries and civilizations.<\/p>\n

\n<\/p>

During the seminar, he also touched on a number of different topics or fields that can be supported by the wealth of information extracted from coins. One of the most important of these topics was to show the political changes, religious conditions and the cultural situation throughout history. The examples included coins dating back to the period of the Thirtieth Dynasty of Egypt, the period of the second Persian occupation, then the era of Alexander and the Ptolemies, in addition to the period of Roman rule and finally the Islamic periods.<\/p>\n\n\n

The second part of "Strike in Egypt"<\/h2>\n

After the lecture, the attendees raised many questions about the history of coins throughout the ages and their relationship to important historical events. It is worth mentioning that Professor Abdel Azim Fahmy, founder of the Cairo Biography Initiative, noted at the end that the initiative will organize, in cooperation with Professor Mohamed Abdel Hamid, a number of upcoming events, starting with the second part of (Mined in Egypt), then a series of seminars entitled (Mined in Cairo). The details will be announced soon on the Cairo Biography Initiative page. He concluded his speech by thanking the Civilization Cinema Center at the Egyptian Opera House for the excellent organization and provision of the necessary equipment for the success of the cultural events.<\/p>\n\n\n
