The Bank of Morocco issued a commemorative 20 Moroccan dirham banknote to mark the 20th anniversary of King Mohammed VI's accession to the throne.<\/h2>\n\n\n

According to theOfficial website of the Moroccan bank<\/a>The commemorative coin was designed and produced by the mint, on a polymer plastic backing, which was used for the first time in the manufacture of a Moroccan banknote..<\/span><\/p>\n\n

The bank noted that the new banknote features a vertical design on its front, which bears the image of the King in commemoration of King Mohammed VI\u2019s accession to the throne. The back of the banknote includes stylized drawings of some of the major projects that have been completed during the past twenty years, including the Mohammed VI Bridge, the Noor solar power station, the Mohammed VI satellite, and the high-speed Al-Buraq train.<\/p>\n\n

The bank stated that these achievements represent different facets of a modern Morocco committed to moving forward on the path of progress. It explained that, to ensure greater protection against counterfeiting, the banknote has been equipped with a range of technical features, including at least 10 robust security elements on both sides, most notably microtext and anti-scanning patterns embedded in various locations on the note..<\/span><\/p>\n

The bank explained that visually impaired individuals can easily identify the denomination of this banknote by touch, thanks to twenty strips distributed along the edges of the banknote's front using a raised-printer..<\/span><\/p>\n

The bank revealed that this new banknote, commemorating the anniversary of King Mohammed VI's accession to the throne, and which has legal tender status, will be issued in a limited number during September 2019, and will be put into circulation alongside the existing 20-dirham banknotes..<\/span><\/p>\n
