Tour Association, targeted three neighborhoods in Beirut and its suburbs. They distributed a fake ATM machine called \u201cDollar.\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/thecurrencyofcorruption.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" data-abc=\"true\">Currency of the workers<\/a>\u201cWhich encouraged people to print banknotes and use them for cash payments on May 13.\u201d.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pub-8c6367eeb78947fb9a67f9647334fc7f.r2.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/a56c4e84-f32e-4a08-b71f-572564c6382e.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-278327\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Lolar Bank ATM<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-right\" id=\"2-%D8%B1%D8%B3%D9%88%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%AA-%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%B9%D9%8A%D8%A9\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"%D8%B1%D8%B3%D9%88%D9%85%D8%A7%D8%AA_%D9%88%D8%A7%D9%82%D8%B9%D9%8A%D8%A9\"><\/span>Realistic drawings<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n<p dir=\"rtl\">The fake currency, the Lollar, features drawings by Beirut-based British artist Tom Young, inspired by the crises that have plagued the country in recent years, in condemnation of the rampant administrative corruption in the country and to draw international public attention to the situation in the country.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article__block\" data-type=\"text\">\n<div class=\"article__text\" dir=\"rtl\">According to the association, the financial categories embody the rampant corruption in various departments in the public sector, where 1 \u201cLollar\u201d symbolizes \u201cthe train station that stopped operating in 1989, and the Lebanese state still allocates a budget of millions to cover its expenses.\u201d.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"854\" height=\"367\" data-id=\"278360\" src=\"https:\/\/pub-8c6367eeb78947fb9a67f9647334fc7f.r2.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/1-1-Small.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-278360\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"854\" height=\"364\" data-id=\"278359\" src=\"https:\/\/pub-8c6367eeb78947fb9a67f9647334fc7f.r2.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/1-2-Small.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-278359\"><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">As for the 5 \u201cLollars\u201d, they symbolize the gasoline cartels and the fuel shortage crisis \u201cafter the Lebanese state lifted subsidies on fuel prices and the central bank stopped opening credits due to the dollar shortage, which forced importing companies to ration the distribution of gasoline and diesel to stations and increase prices in an unimaginable way.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"854\" height=\"366\" data-id=\"278362\" src=\"https:\/\/pub-8c6367eeb78947fb9a67f9647334fc7f.r2.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/05-1-Small.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-278362\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1310\" height=\"564\" data-id=\"278361\" src=\"https:\/\/pub-8c6367eeb78947fb9a67f9647334fc7f.r2.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/5-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-278361\"><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n<p dir=\"rtl\">The 10 \u201cLolar\u201d category symbolizes the landfills that \u201chave exhausted the state budget since it decided in 1994 to contract with specialized companies to take care of the landfill issue. The sea was filled in several times to create landfills, but these solutions were temporary, such as the Normandy landfill, Costa Brava, Burj Hammoud, and Naameh. At that time, many thermal power plants were established, such as the Zouk, Jiyyeh, Tyre, Baalbek, and others. All of them were shut down due to the scarcity of dollars. In 2017, reverse generators were installed in the Jiyyeh and Zouk power plants, which were closed for many reasons, most notably corruption.<\/p>\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-6 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"854\" height=\"370\" data-id=\"278368\" src=\"https:\/\/pub-8c6367eeb78947fb9a67f9647334fc7f.r2.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/50-2-Small.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-278368\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"854\" height=\"370\" data-id=\"278367\" src=\"https:\/\/pub-8c6367eeb78947fb9a67f9647334fc7f.r2.dev\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/11\/50-1-Small.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-278367\"><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n<p dir=\"rtl\">The last category is the 100 \u201cLollars\u201d, which symbolizes the port administration and the explosion that occurred in 2020, which left 218 dead, 7,000 injured, and about 300,000 displaced, in addition to the severe damage to the port and the city\u2019s suburbs.
