Dr. Sherif Farouk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Postal Authority, said: \u201cCairo is one of the oldest and most prestigious Arab capitals, and represents a point of cultural convergence between the cultures of the world. It is also an open-air museum of world heritage.\u201d He pointed out that the selection of \u201cCairo\u201d as the Capital of Culture in the Islamic World for 2022 is a great achievement that embodies the success of the Egyptian state in preserving Egyptian heritage and promoting its value. Therefore, the National Postal Authority took the initiative to issue a commemorative postage stamp to document this important event in the history of the nation.<\/div>\n

Dr. Sherif Farouk added that commemorative stamps are a means of cultural communication between different countries and peoples of the world, and they document the history of nations throughout the ages.
