\nMinister of Communications and Information Technology, Dr. Amr Talaat, confirmed that a set of commemorative stamps was issued to document the opening of the Avenue of Sphinxes in Luxor, the historic passageway that is one of the most important archaeological landmarks in the world. This step comes within the framework of the vital role of the Egyptian Post Office in commemorating great national occasions and events, and in light of the concerted efforts to document this prominent global event.<\/p>\n
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Postal Authority, Dr. Sherif Farouk, stated that the opening of the Avenue of Sphinxes was a historic event awaited by the whole world, in order to witness the celebrations that the ancient Egyptians used to hold more than 5,000 years ago in the heart of the Pharaonic Avenue of Sphinxes, which were held periodically every year on the land of Luxor, during which kings were installed or important occasions were celebrated. Therefore, the National Postal Authority took the initiative to participate in this important event and document it by issuing a set of commemorative postage stamps, equipped with \u201cQR Code\u201d technology so that stamp collectors and followers can obtain all the information related to the stamp and the occasion on which it was issued, by linking the stamp to the Internet, as part of the comprehensive development plan that the Egyptian Post is currently witnessing, which aims to implement digital transformation in all departments, sectors and services that it provides.<\/p>\n
