As part of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology\u2019s initiative to involve the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities in documenting the event of transferring the royal mummies from the Egyptian Museum to the National Museum of Civilization in Fustat, the National Postal Authority issued a set of commemorative postage stamps with QR Code technology, which is being applied for the first time on Egyptian postage stamps to commemorate this occasion, which enjoys great interest at both the local and global levels.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, affirmed that the procession of the royal mummies is a momentous historical event awaited by the world, inspiring pride and admiration for Egypt's ancient civilization. He noted that, as part of concerted efforts to ensure this event is presented in a fitting manner and documented as one of the shining events in the nation's memory, a set of commemorative postage stamps has been issued to immortalize this awe-inspiring event.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. Amr Talaat pointed out the state\u2019s keenness to organize this event in an impressive manner that reflects the civilizational progress that Egypt is witnessing during the current stage, which required keeping pace with these efforts by applying the latest global technologies in issuing postage stamps that document this event, which is the QR Code technology that is being applied for the first time in postage stamps in Egypt, with the aim of creating a rich interactive experience for the collectors of these stamps that enables them to acquire the necessary knowledge about this occasion in an innovative and attractive way.<\/div>\n

Dr. Khaled El-Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the National Postal Authority for issuing commemorative postage stamps to immortalize the event of the transfer of the royal mummies in a legendary procession from the Egyptian Museum to the National Museum of Civilization in Fustat, which will be the focus of the world's attention. He pointed out that this procession is a unique global event that will not be repeated, and through it we aim to show the extent of the Egyptians' respect for their history, as well as highlighting the beauty of Cairo and showcasing it in a civilized manner to the whole world.<\/div>\n

Dr. Sherif Farouk, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Postal Authority, stated that this historic event is a source of pride and confirms Egypt\u2019s leadership and its ability to complete development and construction plans. Therefore, the National Postal Authority hastened to participate in this important event and document it by issuing a set of commemorative postage stamps that includes a commemorative card and a set of stamps bearing the event\u2019s logo, in addition to a commemorative plaque of stamps with pictures of all the kings that will be transported in the procession.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Dr. Sherif Farouk explained that the Egyptian Post is applying the \u201cQR Code\u201d technology to commemorative stamps for the first time, which enables stamp collectors and followers to obtain all information related to the stamp and the occasion on which it was issued by linking the stamp to the Internet. This is part of the comprehensive development plan that the Egyptian Post is currently witnessing, which aims to implement digital transformation in all departments, sectors and services it provides.<\/div>\n

It is worth mentioning that the commemorative stamp set consists of three stamps, each measuring 3 cm x 5 cm and valued at 5 pounds per stamp, while the commemorative card measures 8 cm x 12 cm and is valued at 5 pounds, and the commemorative plaque includes 22 stamps bearing the images of all the kings whose mummies will be transferred, measuring 20 cm x 21 cm and valued at 5 pounds each; noting that all issues are multi-color offset, secure against counterfeiting and equipped with QR code technology.<\/div>\n
On the other hand, Egypt issued commemorative coins for the same occasion in denominations of one pound and half a pound for circulation. A commemorative silver coin marking the transfer of the royal mummies<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
