A coin, as we know, is a small metal disc designed by humans and manufactured by machines. But I discovered that God has a hand even in coins.

The whole idea revolves around what collectors call patina, the layer of colors that forms on a coin's surface when the metal reacts with oxygen and other substances like sulfur, which was present in the cloth used to store coins. The most beautiful colors—due to the strength of the metal's reaction—are those that form on the surface of silver and bronze coins. Important note: Genuine patina can take many years to form, and its development requires that the coin be near the cloth but not touching it, placed in a slightly humid environment, and not moved at all.

For decades, collectors considered any silver coin that wasn't perfectly white to be unattractive and focused on destroying the patina in its early stages. Now, a beautiful patina significantly increases the coin's value. This is one of the reasons why patina is counterfeited today, whether through heat, humidity, chemicals, or gases. But the amazing thing is that even now, counterfeiters have never been able to replicate the hand of God. Firstly, the patina has a spectrum of colors that appear in a specific order: gold, then crimson, then blue, then gold again, then crimson, then green. Secondly, and most importantly, the height of the patina at this stage does not exceed 20 micrometers. Therefore, the smallest part of the finest design (for example, the minute spaces between the teeth of the frame or the "balls") are in fact considered deep grooves of the patina. Incidentally, this is one of the most important ways to detect patina counterfeiting. Simply put, no matter how skilled the counterfeiter is, he cannot apply the correct patina color between the "balls," another color on its sides, and a final color on the upper points. All of this is in an order that follows physical rules that God has set for us. Now, are you still surprised, my friend, when I hesitate to exclaim "Glory be to God!" upon seeing a beautiful coin?

I never imagined I would praise God upon seeing a coin.
