He told the dream to his master, who promised him that he would become king of Egypt in order to put Idris&#039;s picture on the fairy, which actually happened in 1926.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The story, though romantic, bears no resemblance to reality. Firstly, Idris Osman was King Fuad&#039;s confidant, and this confidant, or keeper of secrets, was the one who arranged the lady&#039;s appointments and through whom all meetings were conducted, exactly like the role of a personal assistant today. He held the rank of Bey and eight decorations from Egypt, Belgium, and France. Our friend was never a servant, as portrayed in the famous series &quot;King Farouk,&quot; helping the king with his clothes and shoes! Furthermore, he did not raise King Farouk, nor did he live to see the revolution. In fact, he never even saw King Farouk ascend the throne, as he died in 1934 from diabetes, during King Fuad&#039;s reign!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arabcollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/50295355_10161178322500391_4636574649533071360_n.jpg\" alt=\"50295355_10161178322500391_4636574649533071360_n\" class=\"wp-image-273318\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Archives from Bradbury &amp; Wilkinson, the printing house of \u201cThe Peasant Fairy,\u201d indicate that its designers chose an image of a person with Egyptian\/Nubian features wearing Egyptian peasant attire, and did not specify the person\u2019s name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next time someone tells you this legend, smile mysteriously, because you know the truth!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/arabcollector.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/50999280_10161178322555391_3545410230567305216_n.jpg\" alt=\"50999280_10161178322555391_3545410230567305216_n\" class=\"wp-image-273319\" width=\"296\" height=\"376\"\/><\/figure><\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>They deceived you when they said that the peasant&#039;s fairy has a fascinating story, as the image on it is that of Uncle Idris, or Idris al-Aqsari, or Idris Othman, who dreamt that his impoverished master, Prince Ahmed Fouad, would become King of Egypt and wear its crown.
