The Central Bank of Iraq issued on Sunday its second edition of banknotes in the denominations of (25000, 10000, 1000, 500, 250) dinars.
The bank\u2019s media office said in a statement, a copy of which was received by \/Mawazin News\/, that \u201cthe bank has issued its second edition of banknotes for the denominations of (25000, 10000, 1000, 500, 250) dinars,\u201d stressing that \u201cthe circulation of the banknotes currently in circulation will continue with the above denominations along with the new denominations without any intention of withdrawing them from circulation.\u201d.
He added, \u201cThere are changes to the categories that include writing the name of the governor instead of his signature in the old version, in line with what is now followed in other countries. The Hijri and Gregorian dates have also been changed to (1440 AH - 2018 AD).\u201d.
The bank indicated that \u201cthe face of the (1000) dinar banknote has been changed, as the slogan \u201cInclusion of the Marshes and Antiquities of Southern Iraq on the World Heritage List\u201d was placed instead of the image of the Islamic dinar in the old design, based on a decision issued in this regard, in addition to writing the governor\u2019s name instead of his signature in the old issue, and amending the Hijri and Gregorian dates to the dates (1440 AH - 2018 AD).\u201d<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
