This way, you can connect any two people, even if the first is a farmer from South Africa and the sixth is the Queen of England! There's a very popular version of the game called "6 Degrees of Separation from Kevin Bacon," which connects anyone in Hollywood to the American actor Kevin Bacon. You could even ask Google how far someone is from Kevin Bacon, and it would give you an answer! The same game can be used for currency, and today's currency is easy—you won't need more than one degree!

<ins class="adsbygoogle"
     style="display:block; text-align:center;"
     data-ad-layout="in-article"
     data-ad-format="fluid"
     data-ad-client="ca-pub-6346087148954344"
     data-ad-slot="1339252815"></ins>

Today's coin is the Irish 6p minted in 1961 – so what is its connection to the Egyptian royal coins or the Iraqi royal coins? The answer: The designer of this Irish coin is “Sir Percy Metcalf”, the designer of the coins of King Fuad in his ceremonial uniform, as well as the coins of King Farouk, King Faisal II, and King Ghazi. ”Percy” was a skilled sculptor and modeler, who was able to win several coin design competitions with his skill (including the competition that was held to design the image of King Farouk on the coins, and we wrote about its details in the seventh issue of Al-Muqtani Al-Arabi magazine). The most distinctive feature of his style was his reliance on strong, almost straight lines to depict elements of nature in most of his works. This is very evident in the fez extending to King Fuad's forehead and then to his nose, as well as the shoulders, collars, etc. The same strong lines are present in the coin on display today, which depicts an Irish Wolfhound. We see the line starting from the neck to the front paws, as well as the single long line on the back extending from the highest point of the head to the end of the tail. Fortunately for collectors, the piece on display, which is from my personal collection, despite its attractiveness and condition valued at 63+, is nevertheless an inexpensive coin. A similar one in appearance and condition can be obtained for around $3.
